Ideas and Amusements: an experiment by me →
This week I’m starting an experimental linklog, spurred on by Mills Baker’s suggestion. It’s an experiment in the sense that the style’s very apt to shift as I get my footing and figure out what’s exciting as is and what needs more explaining. Ideally, every post should be understandable by anyone; preferrably, it’ll be interesting to anyone too.
In a larger sense, the project’s motivated by a more subtle shift in my personal blog: making everything more… uhh… personal. I’ve been trying to practice writing fewer, longer posts with more commentary attached, and the downside has been a lull in more random links that I just want to point to and extoll the virtues of. So this represents a turning-outward, in a sense.
The linklog uses the delightfully minimalist “Asterism” theme by dailymeh, which comes spare of any accompanying elements that might distract from the items. Once it gets going, it’ll undoubtedly be informed by (and reblog links from) all the wonderful tumblrs I read on a regular basis. There might even be other people writing posts too, if there’s interest out there.
Please let me know what you think! (via email or disqus comments on this post)
