Tumblr’s urban/NYC/California-centric nature has been at turns enthralling, annoying, and frustrating, but this marks the first time that it’s just comically embarassing.

Speaking as someone who’s survived two decades in Kansas - yes, that Kansas - it’s not bad. You’re going to find wonderful people and assholes wherever you are; the only distinction is what flavor of assholery you encounter. And for every bad story someone has about the backwards nature of Kansans, I bet you could find a similar story about the faint disdain New Yorkers have for everyone else. If anything, I’d have complaints to levy against the uber-suburbs of Johnson County, KS where I grew up - a situation that’s decidedly the opposite of the usual stereotypes of Kansas.
